What is heart attack?

Heart attack is when a part of your heart does not get enough blood. Fat build-up or a blood clot blockage prevents blood flow in the artery.

What are possible causes?
  • Coronary artery disease
What are some symptoms?
  • Pain in jaw, neck or back
  • Pain in one or both arms
  • Feeling weak or faint
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
What to do?
  • Choose a variety of fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein
  • Choose more plant based protein
  • Choose healthy fats
  • Limit salt
  • Limit refined and sugary foods
  • Limit alcohol
  • Regular exercise
  • Consult a doctor or dietitian before making big changes
