What is A1C?
A1C is a blood test. It shows the average levels of blood sugar over the past 3 months. It can be used to diagnose type 2 diabetes and prediabetes. It is used for diabetes management.
What do the results show?
The higher the percentage, the higher the blood sugar levels.
- Normal: less than 5.7%
- Prediabetes: 5.7-6.4%
- Diabetes: greater than 6.5%
